Man rams cruiser in stolen vehicle to try to escape from police – C25-120131

Between May 27 and May 30, 2025, a 33-year-old man went on a crime spree that included stealing personal property from a residence in the 300 block of Desautels Street, stealing a 2015 Jeep Wrangler from a residence in the 1-99 block of Westchester Drive and used the stolen credit card at a commercial business in the 100 block of St. Mary’s Road.

On May 31, 2025, police saw the stolen Jeep parked in a parking lot in the 1400 block of St. Matthews Avenue. The Jeep escaped capture by ramming a police cruiser car before fleeing at a high rate of speed.

On June 1, 2025, around 1:15 a.m., officers were performing pro-active policing in the Weston area when they noticed the stolen 2015 Jeep Wrangler that had been stolen the previous day.

The Jeep drove at excessive speeds down sidewalks, green spaces, and the wrong way down a street in the effort to get away from police. After the successful deployment of a tire deflation device and with the assistance of Air1, the Jeep was stopped in the 100 block of St. Anne’s Road and the man was arrested.

Kevin Marshall DEJONCKHEERE was arrested and charged with seven driving, fraud, property crime, and assault related charges and was held in custody.
