On Friday, May 30 at 6:11 p.m., West District General Patrol officers responded to a suspicious call in the 200 block of Ferry Road regarding an unknown male in the rear lane, covered in blood and possibly attempting to break into residences.
At 6:16 p.m., officers located the male armed with a screwdriver in the rear lane of the above location. A use of force encounter occurred and the male was shot by police.
Officers immediately provided emergency medical care, including the application of chest seals, until paramedics arrived. The male was transported to hospital in critical condition where he later succumbed to his injuries.
