On May 15, 2025, at approximately 6:00 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a residence in the first 100 block of Westgrove Way for the report of a stabbing.

Upon arrival, West District General Patrol officers located a 14-year-old female suffering from multiple upper body injuries and was being medically treated by emergency personnel which included the use of a chest seal.

The female youth victim was transported to hospital by ambulance in unstable condition, later upgraded to stable.

The Major Crimes Unit assumed the investigation.

It was determined through investigation that the female youth victim had encountered the two female youth suspects a short time earlier, outside a retail business in the 6600 block of Roblin Boulevard. A verbal argument ensued, which escalated in the female youth victim being physically assaulted and stabbed several times with a sharp-edged weapon by the two female youth suspects before fleeing the scene.

At approximately 7:00 p.m., officers attended to a residence in the 700 block of Dale Boulevard and arrested a female youth suspect without incident.

On May 16, 2025, at approximately 8:30 p.m., a second female youth suspect attended to Winnipeg Police Headquarters and was arrested by officers without incident.

The female youth victim and two female youth suspects are previously known to one another.

A 14-year-old female, from Winnipeg is facing a charge of Assault. A 15-year-old female, from Winnipeg is facing a charge of Assault with a Weapon.

They were both released on Undertakings as mandated by the Criminal Code.
