Between October 2024 and January 2025, Loss Prevention personnel at a department store in the 1000 block of Taylor Avenue noticed fraudulent transactions involving a 25-year-old employee.

The Winnipeg Police Service was contacted, and the Financial Crimes Unit assumed the investigation. It was determined that the suspect had fraudulently obtained approximately $38,500 from the store, which was used for personal gain.

On May 12, 2025 at 6:08 p.m., the suspect attended to the Winnipeg Police Headquarters and was arrested without incident.

A 25-year-old male from Winnipeg is facing charges of Fraud Over $5000. He was released on an Appearance Notice as mandated by the Criminal Code.
