On May 7, 2025, at approximately 11:00 a.m., North District Community Support officers were conducting proactive enforcement in the North Point Douglas area when they observed two passengers of a taxi cab that were not wearing their seatbelts. A traffic stop was conducted in the 100 block of Euclid Avenue. While attempting to confirm identity, the  female occupant was asked to exit the taxi when a single .22 calibre bullet was observed in plain view on the backseat. A protective pat down was conducted which revealed a BB gun on her person.

Further investigation revealed a loaded sawed-off .22 calibre rifle with ammunition in the magazine within the vehicle.
