On April 28, 2025, at approximately 8:10 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded for the report of a male causing a disturbance at a fast food restaurant in the 200 block of Osborne Street.

Upon arrival, officers from the West District, along with TST were confronted by a male who was behaving erratically inside the restaurant. While attempting to arrest him, police deployed a conducted energy weapon and he was safely taken into custody. He was in possession of bear spray, a pellet gun and approximately 16 grams of cocaine.

No staff or customers were injured.

The restaurant was in disarray and the staff reported that he had approached the counter aggressively demanding food and then pulled down the plexiglass barriers causing them to shatter on the ground. Staff retreated to the back office and contacted police, while the male attempted to gain access to the office until police arrived.

The accused was medically cleared by paramedics on scene.

Ivan Joseph NORDAL (26) of Winnipeg was charged with the following offences:

  • Mischief Under $5,000/Obstruct in Enjoyment
  • Possession of a Weapon x 2
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order x 2
  • Possession of Scheduled Substance - Cocaine

He was detained in custody.
