Robbery – Arrest: C25-86916

On April 24, 2025, at approximately 9:45 p.m., a civilian employee of the Winnipeg Police Service was exiting Headquarters and observed a male armed with a knife who was attempting to rob another male who was nearby.

The employee quickly reacted and began yelling at the suspect and disrupted the robbery. They held the building door open, allowing the victim to retreat to safety, while the suspect fled on foot.  Another WPS member in the area called 911 for backup.

Minutes later, officers from the Central District arrested the suspect near Portage/Fort, in possession of the weapon.

The victim was not injured, and none of his property was taken.

An 18-year-old male of Winnipeg is facing the following charges:

  • Robbery
  • Possession of a Weapon x 2
  • Fail to Comply with Sentence

He was released on an Undertaking.
