Strongarm Robbery – Arrests: C25-77922

On April 13, 2025 at approximately 10:25 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service resp[onded to the area of the Disraeli Freeway and Henry Avenue for the report of an assault on a transit bus.

Attending Central District General Patrol attended and learned that the victim, a 20-year-old female passenger of a southbound Henderson Highway bus, was approached by two adult males who began making unwanted advances. A 31-year-old male passenger who observed the incident intervened at which point he was physically assaulted by the suspects. The suspects attempted to steal his property before both alighted the bus near the Disraeli Freeway and Martha Street and fled on foot. The operator of the bus alerted police to attend.

Officers investigating an unrelated matter in the area involving the same suspects, arrested them without incident.

The suspects and the victims were previously unknown to one another. Both victims did not require medical attention for injuries sustained as a result of the incident.

A 36-year-old male and a 28-year-old male, both of Winnipeg, each face two charges of Robbery.

The 36-year-old male was detained in custody awaiting disposition while the 28-year-old male was released on an Undertaking as mandated by the Criminal Code.
