On April 13, 2025 at approximately midnight, the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a fast food establishment in the 900 block of Keewatin Street for the report of a robbery at knifepoint by several suspects.
North District General Patrol with assistance from members of the K9 Unit and Air1 attended and learned that the suspects had fled before their arrival with an undisclosed amount of money.
With Air1 members providing visual containment of the suspects, ground units were provided direction to their locations as they had now fled in different directions. Shortly thereafter, three suspects were taken into custody without incident.
The Major Crimes Unit learned through its investigation that the suspects attended the establishment, brandished knives and demanded money from the employee. The employee/victim was threatened at knifepoint while one of the suspects forcibly removed the till before all three fled on foot.
A 13-year-old female, and a 16-year-old male face charges of Robbery and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 while a 15-year-old male faces the following charges:
- Robbery x 2
- Possession of a Weapon
- Theft Under $5,000 x 2
- Break Enter & Commit – Place
Investigators also linked the 15-year-old to three other similar robbery/theft incidents at fast food establishments in the near vicinity.
On March 25, the suspects entered a fast-food establishment in the 900 block of Keewatin Street and fled with a till containing an undisclosed amount of funds.
On March 28, the suspects broke into a fast-food establishment in 1000 block of Keewatin Street after hours of operation causing approximately $800 damage, and fled with store product merchandise.
On April 6, the suspects entered a fast-food establishment in the 900 block of Keewatin Street and fled after unsuccessfully attempting to remove a till. Shortly thereafter, the suspects attended the same establishment where they confronted an employee and committed a robbery by demanding money at knifepoint and fleeing with an undisclosed amount of funds.
No injuries were reported in any of the incidents.
All three were released on undertakings as mandated by the Criminal Code.
The Major Crimes Unit has assumed the investigation.
