On April 3, 2025, at approximately 1:15 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the parking lot in the sub 100 block of Marion Street for the report of a female motorist in possession of a firearm. Information was relayed that the incident stemmed from a road rage incident.

East District General Patrol officers arrived on scene, located the female suspect in a parking lot and entered into an investigation. Officers located a black CO2 air pistol in the vehicle. The suspect was arrested without incident. The firearm was not discharged and no injuries were reported as a result of this incident.

Officers learned though investigation that a 36-year-old male victim and 20-year-old female victim were travelling northbound on St. Mary’s Road at Fermor Avenue when another vehicle, driven by a female suspect, inadvertently pulled in front of them, driving erratically. Both parties stopped at a parking lot in the 100 block of Goulet Street and engaged in a verbal dispute. The argument escalated to where the suspect brandished what appeared to be a firearm and waved it in the general direction of the victims while continuing to yell at them. Both left in their respective vehicles and the victims contacted police.

The suspect and victims are not previously known to one another.

A 32-year-old female, from Winnipeg is facing charges of Possession of a Weapon and Pointing a Firearm.

She was released on an Appearance Notice as mandated by the Criminal Code.
