On March 30, 2025, at approximately 6:49 p.m., officers from the Winnipeg Police Service working Special Duty at a grocery store in the 2100 block of McPhillips Street encountered an adult male they believed to be a suspect in an unrelated firearm incident.

Officers arrested the suspect without incident. During his arrest, officers located the following:

  • 9mm Glock handgun (loaded)
  • 9mm high capacity magazine
  • Approximately 4.42 grams of Cocaine (estimated street value $353)
  • Approximately 260 Hydromorphone pills (estimated Street Value $5,200)
  • Approximately $407 Canadian currency
  • Cell Phone

Brenden Carl PACKULAK, 28 yrs of Winnipeg has been charged with the following:

  • Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
  • Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – COCAINE
  • Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Hydromorphone
  • Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000

He was detained in custody.
