Motor Vehicle Collision/Impaired Driver – Arrest: C25-66165

On March 29, 2025, at approximately 4:55 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the report of a multi-vehicle motor vehicle collision involving an impaired driver at the intersection of Waverley Street and Perimeter Highway South.

West District General Patrol officers responded and learned that a 63-year-old suspect operating a 2021 Honda Ridgeline was travelling east on the Perimeter Highway and failed to stop at the intersection of Waverley Street. He collided with the rear of another vehicle, causing a multi-vehicle collision. A youth female passenger in the vehicle struck by the suspect was transported to hospital in stable condition with serious but not life-threatening injuries.  

The suspect was cleared by the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service and taken into custody by officers.

David Nelson FOURNIER, 63 YRS of St. Paul Minnesota has been charged with:

  • Operation of a Conveyance Cause Bodily Harm While Impaired to Any Degree by BAC or Drug or a Combination of Both
  • Within 2 hrs of Ceasing to Operation a Conveyance is Impaired with BAC Equal or Over 80mgs

He was detained in custody.
