On March 28, 2025, at approximately 9:00 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service received report of a stabbing in the 500 block of Elgin Avenue.
Attending Central District General Patrol officers determined that a 28-year-old male suspect was involved in an argument with several individuals at the above location. The dispute escalated, resulting in the suspect assaulting a 53-year-old female and a 60-year-old male in the upper body. A 33-year-old male was also assaulted in the upper body with a weapon. The female and 60-year-old male victims did not require medical attention, whereas the 33-year-old victim was transported to hospital in stable condition.
At approximately 9:45 p.m., officers located the suspect in the 600 block of Balmoral Street, where he was taken into custody without incident.
Nathan SUMNER, 28 yrs of Little Saskatchewan First Nation, has been charged with Assault x 2 and Assault with a Weapon.
He was detained in custody.
