On March 27, 2025, at approximately 8:15 p.m., North District General Patrol officers were patrolling in the William Whyte neighbourhood when they observed a male cross the street in front of them carrying a bag with what appeared to be the butt end of a black handgun protruding from within it.
Officers entered into an investigation, approached the male near the corner of Salter Street and Manitoba Avenue and arrested him without incident. Upon performing a search, officers located and seized a replica Glock 19 CO2 firearm and a knife.
A 24-year-old male, from Winnipeg is facing two charges for Possession of a Weapon.
He was released on an Appearance Notice as mandated by the Criminal Code.
