Homicide – Arrest: C25-60699

On March 22, 2025, at approximately 3:10 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the report of a domestic-related assault at a residence in the 1000 block of Selkirk Avenue.

Upon arrival, General Patrol officers from the North District, located an adult female with severe injuries. They provided emergency medical care including CPR. She was transported to hospital in critical condition, however, succumbed to her injuries.

The deceased has been identified as 33-year-old, Stephanie ANDERSON-PAUPANEKIS. Police have made notifications to her family. Stephanie was a member of Norway House First Nation and had been residing in Winnipeg since 2024.

With the assistance of the K9 unit, an adult male was located nearby and taken into custody.

The Homicide Unit assumed the investigation and 40-year-old, Jason Matthew KEAM, also a member of Norway House First Nation residing in Winnipeg, has been charged with Second Degree Murder. He was detained in custody.
