On March 23, 2025 at approximately 4:30 a.m., Central District officers investigating an unrelated disturbance incident, came across a known male in the stairwell of an apartment complex in the 300 block of Kennedy Street.

Officers, with knowledge of the male’s condition not to frequent this address, arrested him without incident. A subsequent search revealed a crowbar concealed on his person and a search of his property led to the discovery of a loaded sawed-off shotgun with a 12-gauge round of ammunition.

A 43-year-old male of Winnipeg faces the following charges:

  • Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
  • Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  • Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition x 2
  • Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon, Firearm Part or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order x 4
  • Possession of a Weapon
  • Fail to comply with Condition of Release Order x 4

He was detained in police custody awaiting disposition.
