On March 23, 2025 at approximately 7:15 p.m., patrolling Central District officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Hargrave Street for the report of an assault that had just occurred.

Officers located a 24-year-old female victim and a 30-year-old male victim suffering from bodily injuries sustained from having been assaulted by three adult males. Officers located the suspects nearby and arrested them without incident.

Through their investigation, it was determined that the suspects approached the victims as they walked on southbound on Hargrave Street from Graham Avenue and a verbal confrontation ensued. As the victims attempted to distance themselves, the suspects first physically assaulted the female victim, and subsequently physically assaulted the male victim as he attempted to intervene. The suspects continued to physical assault both victims as they were knocked to the ground. The suspects fled on foot before police arrived. The victims did not seek medical attention.

The victims and the suspect were not previously known to one another.

A 26-year-old male and a 27-year-old male, both of Winnipeg face two counts of Assault each. Both were released on Undertakings as mandated by the Criminal Code.

A 31-year-old male, also of Winnipeg, was detained under the Intoxicated Persons Detentions Act.
