On March 22, 2025, at approximately 6:30 p.m., officers from the Central District responded to the report of a male with a gun and bear spray on a bus.

A teenage male confronted another teenage male passenger on the bus. They were not known to each other.

Without provocation the suspect teen attempted to deploy bear spray and pointed the firearm at the victim. During the confrontation, the victim managed to create distance and the suspect ran off the bus and boarded another. The victim was not injured.

Police located him on the second bus at Main/Stella and he was taken into custody; bear spray and a BB-style handgun were seized.

The suspect, a 15-year-old male from outside the city limits, was charged with the following offences:

  • Pointing a Firearm
  • Possession of a Weapon x 2
  • Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition x 2
  • Fail to Comply with Sentence x 4

He was detained in custody.
