On March 22, 2025, at approximately 2:30 p.m., General Patrol officers from the West District responded to the report of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian in a parking lot in the 1200 block of St. James Street.

The victim, an adult female in her 30s, was standing in an open parking spot saving it for her family who were driving through the lot at a recreational facility. As she waited for them to approach, another vehicle arrived first, and the driver began an argument over saving the spot. The driver then proceeded to drive into the parking stall, knocking the female to the ground, where she became trapped under the front tires of the SUV.

The vehicle then drove off with no concern for the victim on the ground.

The victim was transported to the hospital in stable condition for lower body injuries.

Police identified and located the driver and she was placed under arrest.

A 40-year-old female faces the following charges:

  • Assault with a Weapon
  • HTA Drive carelessly

She was released on an Undertaking.
