On March 15, at approximately 12:30 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the area of Osborne Street and Mulvey Avenue East for the report of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.
Traffic Division officers attended with members of the WFPS who provided the 25-year-old female pedestrian with emergency medical care for serious injuries sustained from the collision. She was transported to hospital in stable condition. The involved vehicle and its occupants fled before police arrived.
Through their investigation, investigators learned that the victim had attempted to cross the roadway at Mulvey Avenue East in front of the stopped westbound van. As the victim crossed the roadway, she was struck by the involved vehicle and knocked to the ground, causing extensive injuries. The driver continued northbound on Osborne Street and a concerned citizen who came across the victim lying in the roadway summoned emergency services to attend.
