On March 10, 2025, at approximately 4:00 p.m., officers from the Central District responded to the report of a female assaulting passengers aboard a transit bus near Balmoral Street and Sargent Avenue.

A female, who appeared to be intoxicated and behaving aggressively, confronted two random passengers on the bus. She pushed one of the passengers, and during this assault, another passenger (a female in her 20s) was elbowed in the face.

The assault then turned to yet another passenger, (a male in his 50s) who was punched, bit and had his hair pulled out.

Bystanders intervened, restrained the suspect and waited for police.

Police took the female into custody, and the male victim was transported to hospital in stable condition for medical treatment. The female victim declined medical attention. The two passengers of the initial altercation left before they were identified.

A 22-year-old female is facing charges for Assault and Assault Cause Bodily Harm. She was released on an Undertaking.

Police continue to investigate and work with Transit regarding this incident.
