Counter Exploitation Sweep

On February 27, 2025, the Winnipeg Police Service's Counter Exploitation Unit (CEU) continues to conduct outreach and proactive offender sweeps in the community.

On Saturday, February 22, 2024, in response to several reported community concerns, CEU officers assisted by West District Community Support Units, conducted a sweep in Winnipeg's West End. Five (5) men ranging from 26 to 32 years of age were arrested for Obtaining Sexual Services for Consideration and released either by way of Restorative Justice or on Undertakings as mandated by the Criminal Code.

Several people working in the sex trade were offered community resources.
