Firearms – Arrest C25-45576

On March 2, 2025 at approximately 12:00 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the area of Wellington Avenue and Beverley Street for the repot of an individual armed with a firearm. No shots were reported fired.

Attending Central District General Patrol officers determined that a 33-year-old male suspect was observed walking westbound on Wellington Avenue, carrying what appeared to be a firearm. Officers located the suspect in the 800 block of Notre Dame Avenue, where he attempted to flee on foot upon seeing police. After a brief foot pursuit, officers took him into custody and seized a firearm.

Nicholas Lee KIRTON, 33 yrs of Winnipeg has been charged with the following:

  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition
  • Tampering with Serial Number of a Firearm

He was detained in Custody.
