On February 23, 2025 at approximately 2:26 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the 300 block of Marion Street for the report of a fight where bear spray was discharged and an individual was possibly assaulted with a weapon.

Attending East District General Patrol officers learned that a fight occurred in a parking lot in the 300 block of Marion Street. The fight escalated to the point where several individuals were bear sprayed, and a 31-year-old female victim was assaulted in the upper body with a weapon. The victim was transported to hospital in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable, and five adult victims were treated on scene for the effects of bear spray and released.

The suspects fled prior to police arrival, no arrests have been made.
