On February 12, 2025, at approximately 6:11 p.m., as a result of as investigation by the Guns and Gangs Unit, investigators – assisted by the Tactical Support Team (TST) attended a lounge in the 300 block of York Avenue. They located a 32-year-old male suspect in the company of a 26-year-old female suspect. The male suspect was arrested at which time officers located a backpack containing a loaded sawed-off rifle and additional ammunition on his person.

Investigators have linked the male suspect to several other incidents under investigation by the Property Crimes Unit from early February.

On February 7, 2025 at approximately 7:06 p.m., the male suspect attended to a lounge in the 600 block of St. James Street and stole keys to a grey 2022 Volkswagen Taos belonging to a 42-year-old female victim. He left the area in her vehicle, which has yet to be recovered.

On February 8, 2025 at approximately 5:58 p.m., the male suspect attended to a lounge in the 600 block of Erin Street and stole a purse and contents from a 19-year-old female victim, and used her credit card at several different locations, totalling under $5000.

Tony PRINCE, 32 yrs of Winnipeg has been charged with the following:

  • Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
  • Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order
  • Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  • Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon, Firearm Part or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order x 6
  • Theft Over $5000
  • Theft Under $5000
  • Fraud Under $5000
  • Use of Credit Card

Tiana PRINCE, 26 yrs of Winnipeg has been charged with the following:

  • Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
  • Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

Both were detained in custody.
