On February 3, 2025, at approximately 11:30 a.m., officers from the Central District observed a known male in the area of Ellen Street and Ross Avenue, wanted for a Robbery offence in December 2024. 

Police took him into custody and he was found in possession of a sawed-off rifle, ammunition and approximately 13.6 grams of fentanyl.  

He was turned over to the Major Crimes Unit regarding the outstanding warrant for robbery and an additional warrant came to light.

Dakota Morning Star THOMAS (30) was charged with the following offences and detained in custody:

  • Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  • Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition
  • Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon, Firearm Part or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order x 3
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order x 3
  • Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Warrants for: Robbery and Fail to Comply Probation
