Assault Weapon – Arrest: C25-23859

On February 2, 2025, at approximately 7:32 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service were called to an apartment complex in the 1500 block of Notre Dame Avenue regarding an adult female who had been assaulted.

West District General Patrol officers responded and located a 33-year-old female victim with injuries consistent with an upper-body assault involving a weapon. The investigation determined the victim was in a suite at the above location and became involved in a verbal argument with a 22-year-old female suspect. The argument escalated to the point where the suspect produced a knife, assaulted the victim, and fled the suite.

Officers provided emergency medical care to the victim until she was transported to the hospital in critical condition. She was later upgraded to stable.  

At approximately 9:49 a.m. the suspect was located and arrested without incident.

A 22-year-old female from Winnipeg is facing the following charges:

  • Possession of a Weapon
  • Assault with a Weapon

She was released on an Undertaking as mandated by the Criminal Code.
