On January 30, 2025, the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the report of an attempt abduction of a child in the 1700 block of Brebeuf Place.
West District General Patrol officers attended and learned that at approximately 8:30 a.m., the female victims, aged 8 and 10, were walking to school together in the area of Beaverbrook Street and Centennial Street when an unknown male began to follow them, and took hold of one of their hands. An adult in the area witnessed the incident and intervened. The male let go of the girl’s hand and fled the area. Both female youths arrived at school safely and reported it to an adult. No injuries were reported.
The suspect is described as in his 30s, 6 feet in height, with a thin build and thin blonde hair. He was wearing a tan beach hat with large brim and sunglasses, tank top, and tropical shorts.
