Stabbing – Investigation: C25-19542

On January 27, 2025, at approximately 7:00 p.m., Central District General Patrol officers responded to the 700 block of Simcoe Street for the report of a stabbing.

Upon arrival, officers located a 36-year-old male victim outside of an apartment complex who had been stabbed in the upper body. Officers provided emergency medical care to the victim and he was transported to hospital in unstable condition. He was later upgraded to stable condition.

It was learned through investigation that the victim was walking down Simcoe Street when he was approached by two unknown females asking for a cigarette. The victim attempted to oblige when three unknown males ran out of an apartment complex and dragged him back inside where they robbed, physically assaulted, and stabbed him. The victim was able to flee and contacted police.

The Major Crimes Unit has assumed and is continuing the investigation.
