On January 27, 2025, at approximately 12:30 a.m., Central District General Patrol officers were patrolling in the area of Ellice Avenue and Furby Street when they observed a black Toyota Camry with no license plates parked on Furby Street.
Officers initiated a traffic stop and located a lone male occupant in the vehicle. Further investigation revealed the vehicle as stolen from the 200 block of Pembina Highway on October 10, 2024. The male was also found to be in possession of a fraudulent, out of province driver’s license.
The male was arrested without incident. A search of the vehicle revealed approximately 2 kilograms of cocaine (Estimated Street Value = $80,000), and approximately $3,500 in CDN currency.
A 22-year-old male from Calgary is facing the following charges:
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
- Use a Forged Document
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
- Allegation of Non-compliance with Conditional Sentence Order x 3
He was detained in custody.
