Robbery – Investigation: C25-16362

On January 23, 2025, at approximately 10:19 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service was notified regarding a commercial robbery at a business in the 600 block of Notre Dame Avenue involving an suspect armed with a knife.

Central Reporting Unit officers initiated an investigation and determined that on January 22, 2025, at approximately 5:13 p.m., an adult male suspect concealed several items from the business in a backpack and left without attempting to pay. A 21-year-old male victim (loss prevention officer) and a 24-year-old male victim (security guard) confronted the suspect and asked him to return the merchandise. The suspect produced a knife and lunged at the victims, who retreated, allowing the suspect to escape. The victims were not injured.

Suspect description: Male, approximately 5’8”, slim build, 20s, short dark hair wearing black framed glasses, black & white flat brim hat, black parka, blue jeans, black and red runners, black hoodie, grey backpack (photos below).

The suspect is considered armed and dangerous. If you believe you know their identity or see him, do not approach. Call 911 immediately. 

The Major Crimes Unit has assumed the investigation. No arrests have been made.
