Commercial Robbery – Arrest: C25-13679

On January 19, 2025, at approximately 5:00 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the report of a Commercial Robbery at a retail business in the 1500 block of Regent Avenue West.

Upon arrival, East District General Patrol officers located a female suspect who was still present and took her into custody without incident.

Officers learned through investigation that the suspect attended to the retail business and attempted to leave without paying for her merchandise when she was confronted by an employee just outside the front entrance of the store. The suspect physically assaulted the 25-year-old male victim and at one point brandished a small edged weapon which was promptly taken away from her. As a result of this incident, the victim sustained minor upper body injuries that did not require medical treatment. No other injuries were reported.

The suspect and victim are not previously known to one another.

Amber Rosalee ROBERTS, 39, of Winnipeg, has been charged with the following:

  • Robbery
  • Possess Weapon
  • Warrant – Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000, Theft Under $5,000

She was detained in custody.
