Firearm – Arrest: C25-7546

On January 11, 2025 at approximately 6:15 a.m., Central District General Patrol officers investigating a serious incident in the 500 block of Furby Street interviewed a possible suspect located in a taxi in front of the involved address.

During their investigation, officers located a sawed-off 12-guage shotgun with an obliterated serial number within the taxi and arrested the male without incident. A 12-guage round of ammunition was also seized from his person.

It was determined that the male was not involved in the initial investigation.

A 22-year-old male of Winnipeg faces the following charges:

  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
  • Transport Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations
  • Possession of a Firearm Knowing Serial Number has been Tampered With

He was released on an Appearance Notice as mandated by the Criminal Code.
