On January 11, 2025 at approximately 3:30 a.m., North District General Patrol officers observed a male suspect walking in the area of McPhillips Street and Polson Avenue. The suspect matched the description of an adult male believed to be involved in a reported commercial break & enter which had occurred at a business in the 100 block of Watson Street the previous day.

Officers stopped the accused who quickly fled on foot while being interviewed. He was quickly apprehended after a short foot pursuit and property believed to have been obtained from the break & enter was seized as evidence.

The Major Crimes Unit assumed the investigation and learned that between January 9 and January 10, the suspect had attended an autobody shop in the 1000 block of Arlington Street and stole a 2021 Ford Transit 350 valued at approximately $28,000. On January 10, at approximately 4:00 a.m., the suspect attended to a car wash at the Watson Street address and entered the building after backing the stolen vehicle into the glass front entry door. The suspect fled with the business’s cash register containing currency and gift cards before police arrived. The vehicle was subsequently located unoccupied in the 200 block of Austin Street North later the same morning.

  • Break, Enter & Theft – Place
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
