On January 10, 2025 at approximately 11:50 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a residence in the 1000 block of Corydon Avenue for the report of an adult male who had been stabbed.
Attending West District General Patrol officers assisted by members of the Tactical Support Team (TST) located a 37-year-old male victim suffering from serious upper-body injuries sustained from a stabbing. Officers provided the victim with emergency medical care with the application of a chest seal and a tourniquet. He was transported to hospital in critical condition and later upgraded to stable. Officers arrested an adult male suspect inside the residence without incident.
The Major Crimes Unit assumed the investigation and learned that the victim and suspect, who were known to one another, engaged in a verbal dispute regarding living arrangements which escalated with the suspect arming himself with a knife and stabbing the victim.
Richard Luke ARCHIE, 29, of Winnipeg is charged with Possession of a Weapon and Aggravated Assault.
ARCHIE was detained in custody.
