Stabbing – Arrest: C25-2523

On January 4, 2025, at approximately 2:45 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the report of a stabbing at a residence in the 700 block of McPhillips Street.

Officers from the North District and the Tactical Support Team located the victim in her 40s, with significant injuries and provided emergency medical care. A suspect female still onscene, was immediately taken into police custody.

The victim was transported to hospital in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable condition.

The Major Crimes Unit continued the investigation and determined the accused and the victim were related and had an argument after consuming alcohol for several hours together at the residence. 

Madison Florence TRAVERSE (29) of Winnipeg, was charged with Aggravated Assault and Fail to Comply with Condition of Undertaking.

She was detained in custody.
