In 2024, the Winnipeg Police Service’s Central District Community Support Unit commenced an investigation involving individuals believed to be trafficking illicit drugs within the Sargent Park neighbourhood.

On December 19, 2024, at approximately 1:00 p.m, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team (TST), and the Guns and Gangs Unit, a warrant was executed on a residence in the 800 block of Ingersoll Street.

The search yielded a number of items which were seized by officers including the following:

  • Approximately 458 Dilaudid pills (Estimated Street Value = $9,200)
  • Approximately 403 Percocet pills (Estimated Street Value = $8,100)
  • Approximately 78 ounces of dried Cannabis (Estimated Street Value = $12,500)
  • Approximately 18 grams of Cannabis shatter (Estimated Street Value = $350)
  • Approximately 3 fluid ounces of Cannabis Oil (Estimated Street Value = $12,000)
  • Approximately $5,500 of Canadian currency
  • Approximately $65 of American currency

Over 60 exhibits were collected and approximately $42,000 of illicit drugs were seized.

Two adult suspects were taken into custody without incident.

A 36-year-old male and a 40-year-old female, both from Winnipeg are facing the following charges:

  • Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking x 2
  • Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
  • Adult Possession of Cannabis Known to be Illicit
  • Adult Distribution of Known Illicit Cannabis
  • Possession for the Purpose of Selling Cannabis

They were released on Undertakings as mandated by the Criminal Code.
