Search Warrants/Firearm/Drugs – Arrests: C24-292572

On December 15, 2024, as the result of a drug trafficking investigation, the Guns & Gangs Unit executed search warrants on two residences and a vehicle.

The first warrant was executed at a residence in the 400 block of Inglewood Street and an adult male was taken into custody.

Subsequent warrants were executed at a residence in the 100 block of Bourkevale Drive, as well as a vehicle parked in the 1800 block of Portage Avenue. A second suspect was taken into custody by the vehicle.

As the result of this investigation, a Sig-Sauer firearm and ammunition was located in one of the residences, as well as approximately $45,000 worth of cocaine.

A 33-year-old male, David Paul MOECKEL of Winnipeg was charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
  • Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations
  • Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  • Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon, Firearm Part or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
  • Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000

He was detained in custody.

A 44-year-old male of Winnipeg is facing the following charges:

  • Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
  • Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

He was released on an Undertaking.
