On December 12, 2024, at approximately 12:45 a.m., North District General Patrol officers responded to a report of a firearm discharge in the 300 block of Boyd Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers located two suspects next to a black Jeep Compass in the back lane of the aforementioned address. Both suspects were taken into custody without incident. While converging on the suspects, officers observed one of the suspects discarded an object which was recovered and determined to be a cap gun with 5 rounds of ammunition in the magazine. A search of the 2014 Jeep Compass revealed a sawed-off New England Firearms Pardner 12-gauge shotgun containing one spent round of ammunition, and eight additional shot gun shells.

The Major Crimes Unit assumed and continued the investigation.

It was learned through investigation that the two suspects arrived in the back lane of a residence in the 300 block of Boyd Avenue when the male suspect, armed with the shotgun, attended to the front of the residence and discharged the firearm breaking a window in the process. The male suspect returned to the Jeep Compass where they were  arrested by officers.

There were no injuries as a result of this incident.

The suspects and victim are not previously known to each other.
