Assault Investigation – Arrest: C24-283130

On December 3, 2024 at approximately 5:17 p.m., North District General Patrol officers responded to the Seven Oaks General Hospital for the report of an elderly male who had been assaulted.

Attending officers learned from hospital security personnel, that a 74-year-old male victim had suffered upper-body injuries sustained from being assaulted. The victim was stabilized and treated in hospital and an adult male suspect fled on foot before the arrival of police.

Through their investigation, officers learned that the suspect approached the victim as he was walking towards the hospital urgent care entrance. Unprovoked, the suspect began to physically assault the victim, causing him to fall to the ground and striking his head on the sidewalk, rendering him unconscious.

Officers subsequently identified the suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest.

On December 5, at approximately 11:45 p.m., officers located the suspect during an unrelated call for service and arrested him without incident.

Patee Hae HTOO, 30, has been charged with Assault. HTOO was also found to have an outstanding Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) immigration warrant.

HTOO was detained in custody and the CBSA was advised of his detention.
