On November 22, 2024, at approximately 3:09 p.m., Winnipeg Police responded to a collision on the Perimeter Highway at Fermor Avenue, where a semi-truck left the roadway and struck a train, resulting in the derailment of several train cars.

The 56-year-old driver was airlifted to the hospital by STARS Air Ambulance in unstable condition but has since been upgraded to stable with serious injuries.

The investigation is ongoing by the Traffic Division.
