On November 15, 2024, the Winnipeg Police Service’s Central Reporting Unit took a report in regards to a robbery at a convenience store on Stadacona Street.

The victim in his 50s reported that at approximately 6:20 p.m., (November 14th) he was walking to the store when an unknown male walking towards him said something. When the victim did not respond the male pushed him down and began kicking his body and head on the ground.

After managing to get up, the victim entered the store, only to be followed by the suspect. The male demanded that the victim buy him cigarettes. When the victim refused, he was assaulted again until a store employee yelled that they were calling police. At that point, the suspect fled the scene.

The victim sustained minor injuries, but did not request medical attention.

Upon an initial investigation, the suspect was described as:

  • A Black male in his 20s
  • Medium build with short black dreadlock style hair

The Major Crimes Unit is continuing to investigate.
