On November 16, 2024 at approximately 2:27 a.m., Winnipeg Police North District General Patrol officers were patrolling in the 200 block of Selkirk Avenue when they observed a male youth in possession of a machete.

As officers approached, the male fled on foot in an attempt to evade arrest. Officers pursued the male and took him into custody without incident. The machete was recovered and seized.

A16-year-old male from Winnipeg was charged with Possession of a Weapon.

He was released on an Undertaking as mandated by the Criminal Code.
