On November 6, 2024, at approximately 7:40 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service were informed of a motor vehicle collision involving a motor vehicle and a pedestrian.
Attending East District General Patrol officers located a 34-year-old female pedestrian suffering from serious injuries as a result of being struck by a vehicle near the intersection of Chief Peguis Trail and Gateway Road. Officers provided emergency medical care until members of the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic arrived, at which time she was transported to hospital in critical condition, where she succumbed to her injuries.
The 26-year-old male driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene until emergency personnel arrived and spoke with officers.
The Traffic Division has assumed the investigation.
