Stolen Vehicle – Arrest: C24-253277/R24-51982

On October 30, 2024 at approximately 12:30 a.m., patrolling North District General Patrol members observed a vehicle being operated erratically in the city’s North End.

With assistance from East District General Patrol, officers initiated a distant follow of the vehicle, a 2014 Honda Civic EX reported stolen October 27 from the 100 block of Edmonton Street. In the process of attempting to evade police, the vehicle occupied by the lone suspect collided with a civilian vehicle in the area of Watt Street and Talbot Avenue and immediately fled on foot. No injuries were reported.

Attending members of the Canine Unit tracked the suspect to a residence in the 500 block of Riverton Avenue where he was arrested without incident.

Ricky Clarence Arthur BRIGHTNOSE, 35, of Winnipeg is charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000, Fail to Stop at the Scene of an Accident, and three counts of Fail to Comply with a Release Order.

He was detained in custody.
