Robbery/Carjacking – Investigation: C24-250337

On October 26, 2024 at approximately 2:12 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the 300 block of York Avenue for the report of a Carjacking in progress.

Attending Central District General Patrol officers learned that a 45-year-old female victim was robbed of her Toyota Tundra in a parking lot near the intersection of York Avenue and Carlton Street. During the altercation, she was run over by her own vehicle as it fled. The victim suffered significant injuries and was transported to hospital in unstable condition, and has since been upgraded to stable.

The stolen vehicle was later recovered by police in the Elmwood area.

The Major Crimes Unit has assumed the investigation. No arrests have been made at this time.
