On October 24, 2024, at approximately 10:45 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a report of a serious assault at The Forks.

Central District General Patrol officers located a 25-year-old male victim with serious upper body injuries sustained from being stabbed. Attending officers provided emergency medical care, including the application of a life-saving chest seal. The victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition and was later upgraded to stable.

The investigation revealed the victim and the suspect are known to each other, and were involved in a dispute that escalated to the point where the victim was assaulted with a unknown weapon. Security at The Forks were able to direct officers to the suspect, who was still in the area.

A 24-year-old male from Winnipeg is facing the following charges:

  • Aggravated Assault

He was detained in custody.
