On October 25, 2024, at approximately 4:45 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the report of break, enter and assault that occurred in a student housing complex on the premises of the University of Manitoba on Dafoe Road.

Police met with an adult female who reported that while in her suite an intruder entered her room and physically assaulted her. She managed to fight off the suspect calling for help. University Security Services was alerted and police were contacted. The female was treated for injuries and is in stable condition.

The WPS Sex Crimes Unit has taken over this investigation and an initial image of the suspect has been obtained.

Described as an adult male, 5’10”- 6’00” in height

Unkempt facial hair, long unkempt hair

Wearing a black toque

Black jacket with grey hooded sweater underneath

Possibly blue jeans, black shoes

Black & blue backpack
