On October 22, 2024, at approximately 8:45 p.m., West District General Patrol officers responded to a report of a Robbery in the first 100 block of Chancellors Circle.

Upon arrival, officers observed an 18-year-old male victim being treated by members of the WFPS for non-life-threatening injuries.

Through investigation, it was learned that two male suspects had approached the victim who was sitting on the park bench and assaulted him by spraying him with bear spray. The suspects stole personal property from the victim and fled the area before the arrival of police.

Officers located the suspects at a residence in the 600 block of Pasadena Avenue where they were arrested without incident.

This assault was unprovoked and the suspects and victim were not previously known to one another.

A 19-year-old male from Winnipeg is facing the following charges:

  •  Robbery
  • Mischief Under $5,000/Obstruct in Enjoyment

He was released on an Undertaking as mandated by the Criminal Code.

A 16-year-old male from Winnipeg is facing the following charges:

  • Robbery
  • Mischief Under $5,000/Obstruct in Enjoyment

He was detained in custody.
