On October 21, 2024, at approximately 4:45 p.m., North District General Patrol officers responded to a report of a serious motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian that occurred in the 800 block of Main Street.
Upon arrival, officers, located a 19-year-old male laying on the ground suffering from serious bodily injuries and being tended to by multiple individuals.
The adult male was transported to hospital in unstable condition, and later upgraded to stable.
The Traffic Division’s Collision Investigation Section assumed the investigation and determined that the male had previously attended a nearby commercial business and was causing a disturbance, when he was chased away by staff. The male fled, and at one point, ran across the street and was struck by a motor vehicle travelling southbound. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and spoke to investigators.
The investigation continues.
